The Perversity of Weather

Supposed to rain today. I waited… and waited… and waited. Clouds and more clouds, but no rain. Want rain – NEED rain! But no rain.

So I laid out my hose and charged it.

Put on my smoke mask and got the lighters.

Lit off the big garden with a back fire (fire burning against the wind) so the main fire wouldn’t get out of control, and lit the big fire.

Starting Main Fire

The burn got about half way along, and it started to rain.

Not a gully washer.

Not a regular rain.

Just the equivalent of a misty sprinkle with the occasional rain drop thrown in.

JUST enough rain – to put the fire out.

Then it stopped raining.
